I’ve loved putting nail polish on my nails since I was allowed to. As a teenager, my school didn’t allow us to attend with nail polish on but I remember I would attend with painted nails at least twice a month and still get in trouble. Up to today, as an adult, I never go longer than a week without having a colour on my nail. But all of this is damaging, especially if you do it for long periods of time like I do. Here are a few simple tips I would recommend:
- Nail Polish Protector.
I have been using the O.P.I Nail Envy- Nail Strengthener for nearly three years, and to be honest, it did make my natural nails stronger and last longer, along with grow a bit faster. But I stopped using this product over a year ago because I wear acrylic nails now all the time, nevertheless, I would still recommend this product, or any product similar to this to protect and maintain your natural nails.
- Cuticle Oil/Cream.
This step is key to those who have cracky/dry cuticles, the skin around your nails. It’s a unisex product made to improve the state and condition of the skin present around your nails. The Body Shop Almond cuticle oil is what I prefer best, and would recommend most. I actually have everyone around me hooked on this product, it’s easy to carry around and use.
- Hand Creams.
I honestly am a huge fan of The Body Shop hand creams, but any hand cream would do. Keeping your hands moisturised alone will improve the appearance of your skin and nails.
Hope these tips helped you!
