Jan – 2019

This month, as I am still in the new years resolution spirit, I am trying to live a much healthier lifestyle, both internally and externally. So here are the new products I’ve tried this month!

  • Coconut Milk.

I’ve always heard people substituting their regular cow milk with almond milk, soy milk, oats milk, coconut milk, and other alternatives. But, as I am allergic to almonds, and too afraid to try other substitutes, I’ve decided to give coconut milk a try, as I grew up drinking coconut water straight from the husk and shell. I purchased the Alpro brand around two weeks ago, and I haven’t gone back to regular milk, IT IS SO CREAMY! It is sweet as well, so if you’re not looking to a sweet taste in your cereal or coffees then this isn’t the substitute for you. I wouldn’t consider this substitute as a ‘healthy’ ingredient, as it still contains fat and calories, as well as minerals and nutrients.

  • Overnight Oats.

Oats generally doesn’t attract my attention, I didn’t grow up eating meals such as oatmeal, and had never considered it as a breakfast meal for my diet. But what gave me the urge to try it is one of my close friends, she usually would prepare her overnight oats in advance to reduce the stress of getting ready in the morning and making lectures on time. So, I’ve decided to give it a try, but to be honest, it took me a couple times of eating to get used to the flavour, plus perfect the consistency I preferred.

What I usually put in mine are whole oats are 2 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of chia seeds, whatever fruits I have available (I usually go for blueberries, bananas or raspberries), and finally whole milk, but I have substituted the milk with coconut milk now, and sometimes I would add cinnamon powder.

  • Wholewheat Bread.

I initially wanted to cut off any carbs I eat, but, it has been an essential ingredient my whole life, that I thought, instead of cutting it off completely, I would rather just cut down the portions and amount of carbs I intake. Therefore, Warburtons Seeded Batch Bread is my current favourite, I grew up eating white bread my whole life, and for this year I want to try eating wholewheat bread more than white bread.

  • Lime Crime Velvetines.

Now for some beauty favourites, I’ve been obsessing over these new lippies and haven’t used another lippy the whole month! I’ve written a whole post reviewing these, so click here if you want more information about them.

  • Function- Of Beauty Shampoo & Conditioner.

I’ve written a full blog post about these products as well, which will be coming out next Monday, where I talk about this product in greater details from the ordering process, to using it and how it feels after using it for a whole month.

So these are my current favourites, they are all new products I’ve never tried before, and I love the idea of trying at least one or two new products each month, so I might do that from now on. As usual for my favourites, I write them to recommend it for you to give them a try, they are all fairly affordable!
