Dear reader,

First off, let me apologize for not uploading last Friday, it’s the first time missing an upload day since I’ve started. But that was because I had so much stress and pressure from my uni work that I couldn’t manage my time sufficient enough to put in equal amount of effort into the blog and uni work. And I promised myself at the beginning to never upload a rushed post.

However, I am back now and ready to blog!

I am, and will always be, the number one fan of coffee. I am a huge coffee lover, and I’m solely blaming it on my Arabic background and culture. Along with that, especially this past week dealing with all the stress, I’ve drank an unhealthy amount of coffee, making it appropriate to dedicate a whole post on the different types I like.

Drinks I have liked

  • Omani Coffee.

This is definitely bias, but Omani coffee is honestly one of the best coffees I’ve ever drank. It might be because I am Omani (Yes! Of course it is), but there is nothing better than having a warm cup of pure Omani coffee after a meal. Growing up as an Arab, where coffee is an essential part of our culture, I grew up loving and appreciating the different flavors of coffee. Omani coffee is strong, but water-like consistency, almost always served in a little no-handle-coffee cups (called fenjan in Arabic).

Traditionally, dates are served with it (mostly when guests come over), to add a more sweet taste with the coffee.

  • Turkish Coffee.

Another Middle Eastern essential, and again I might be bias in this case too, but Turkish coffee is truly AMAZING! Its rich and dense coffee bean flavor is always accompanied by a small cup of water (very important element when drinking Turkish coffee). Again, growing up with this has allowed me to open my palates and experiment. Plus, I had the honor of visiting Turkey multiple times, and there is nothing better than authentic Turkish coffee with desserts.

  • Starbucks- Caramel Macchiato.

Was anyone shocked a Starbucks drink was included here? Guess not. Starbucks is a huge topic in the coffee-lovers community, as many coffee-lovers deeply dislike Starbucks drinks, some are even repelled and disgusted by it (a bit dramatic).

But me on the other hand, I love all drinks, I’m not very picky when it comes to food and drinks, and I tend to like nearly everything. So, my ‘go-to’ for years has been the caramel macchiato (both iced and hot). You can’t go wrong with this drink, it’s the perfect amount of coffee, milk, and sugar (from the caramel syrup). For me at least, I never get bored of this drink.

If you want to make your own at home, then hopefully the picture on your right hand side below could guide you.

  • Starbucks- Teavana Flavored Iced Black Tea Lemonade

I know this isn’t a coffee drink, but tea has caffeine in it so I decided to add this here anyway. But in summer time, when I’m looking for a fresh fruity drink, I always go for one of the teavana iced black tea lemonade drinks, they offer a variety of flavors like: mango, peach, pineapple, strawberry, and many more.

  • Caffe Nero- White Chocolate Mocha.

Next we have caffe nero, which in all honesty I don’t go to much. But, they do have one unique drink that I do crave at least twice every winter, and that is their white chocolate mocha. If you do not like sugary, or sweet, drinks then this isn’t for you. Because it’s white chocolate, it is high in sugar and sweetness, and richer in consistency.

  • New Cafes- Caramel Latte.

Generally, whenever I go to a cafe or a restaurant that I’ve never been to before, I always order a caramel latte, because it’s a simple recipe and you can almost guarantee that they can’t mess it up. Although some places do mess it up, but it’s the easiest and simplest item to order (in my opinion) to have a feel of what they offer.

  • Homemade coffee

When it comes to making my own coffee at home, which is every morning, I love using my Bosch home coffee machine because of how easy and quick it is to use. Working with Tassimo, they offer a wide variety of coffee flavors, some really good and some really bad (for example, I really hate their cappuccino capsule, it’s something about it that tastes horrible to me). Of course there are much better home coffee machine options in the market, but for my budget this was the best pick, and I’m truly satisfied.

I hope you enjoyed reading this random post about coffee, and if you share the same obsession (or addiction) to coffee, let me know what is your go-to order!

Take care and love,
